We just learnt that Mariah Carey’s life is set to become a fictionalized TV drama. Starz is developing at present untitled project, with the music celebrity set to serve as an executive producer together with her friend, Brett Ratner.
The drama setting would be in 1968 and written by Nina Colman, a fictional account of the rise of a determined bi-racial 16-year-old in New York City who would turn out to be the biggest selling female music artist of all time after surviving a difficult childhood.
Colman is going to act as showrunner, while Stella Bulochnikov, (Carey’s manager) would also be an executive producer. Other EPs include Ugly Betty’s Teri Weinberg and Horrible Bosses’ John Cheng.
Remember that Carey first rose to fame in 1990 when she release “Vision of Love,” and since then sold over 200 million albums worldwide and also had 18 number-one singles.
Carey, also has been featured in films such as The Butler and Precious, and made her directorial debut in 2015 with the Hallmark Channel Christmas movie, A Christmas Melody, which also she appeared in.
Recently, Carey had her own docu-series named “Mariah’s World”, and she’s set on going to a world tour with no other one but Lionel Richie this summer.
